Drop Shipping in a Nutshell
66Helpful Books
Drop shipping is a great way to start an online retail business. Big companies like Amazon.com do drop shipping and make tons of money. The benefit of drop shipping is that you don’t have to store any product at all yet you can sell hundreds of different products.
Let’s define drop shipping for you. Drop shipping is when you sell a product and it get’s shipped from the manufacturer or a warehouse to the customer. You don’t actually have the product in your possession. This cuts your overhead because you can run a storefront from your bedroom or laptop while on the beach.
What is really great about this is that you get paid for doing this. Let’s say you sell a camera for $200 on your website. When you do drop shipping you pay wholesale prices. That $200 camera may only cost you $175 which means you make $25 for each camera you sell.
To get started in drop shipping you need a reliable drop shipper. There are many drop shippers out there but many of them are not reliable and have cheap products. I recommend World Wide Brands because they have a huge selection of products (over 8 million) and they help educate you in drop shipping. Another plus about them is that they are the only drop shipper approved by eBay.

World Wide Brands, the best drop shipper on the internet.
There are many different ways you can sell these products. You can sell them on your own website, eBay, mail order, or classified ads. The best way to get started is to start on eBay. There is a lot of competition on eBay but it is a good way to get your feet wet. I like to sell a few products at a time on eBay. It is also a great way to build some customers without spending on marketing. I use eBay as a marketing tool because with the competition you may not make too much money per sale but if you at least break even on everything you do then you are essentially getting free marketing. That’s because when I sell something on eBay I can email or snail mail a flyer that has products I only sell on my website. As for the website it’s not very hard to build one yourself even if you are someone like me who has no web design training. I use Yahoo Site Builder and Yahoo hosting for my websites just because I find them easy to use. Go Daddy has some easy web design software too. If you can use a mouse you can build a website without programming knowledge.
Making a little extra cash on the side is not very difficult with drop shipping. You can just offer a few products or a hundred depending on how deep you want to jump in. As long as you can check your email and place some orders you will be fine. Like I said use eBay as a start off point and who knows how far you will go.
